reflections

"When you talk, you repeat what you already know; when you listen,
you often learn something."

"There are really only three kinds of people; those who make things
happen, those who watch thngs happen, and those who say, 'What

Christine's site http://artistadicarta.typepad.com/

I received the most wonderful 4x4 from Christine and on the back she had this quote, it was the most perfect thing because I was trying to find just the right words from my shades of white book and these where the words! Thank you Christine for the 4x4 and the quote!

White is not a mere absence of color; its a shing and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black.
Gilbert K. Chesterton

Shades of White

This is my book for a true colors style RR, I chose white as my color. I wish I would have really only used white, I used a lot of brown as a backing color, if I would have had more time I would have hand stitched words in white, but I had a dead line to get this book out and I am still in studio limbo so I have been working all over the house and between cooking and the kids :)

last 2 pages

I am all done with Caren Calendar!

I just love the image of the girl holding the paint tray.
I used 2 quoits from artist on the page and they are:

"Colour and I are one. I am a painter."
Paul Klee, 1914.

”The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web.” -- Picasso.

Caren's RR Calender

These are my first 4 pages for Caren I am working on the last 2.
I took a class with Tracy Baptista two weeks ago and my pages reflect it. Caren's note talked about her love of colour so I wanted to make her a rainbow.
The image of the girl on page 3 was done by my 15 year old guest artist Sarah~Jeanne :)

switching gears

I need to come up with some new jewelry idea's, so today I pawed through my beads... but I still have a blank, I have 3 mail art dead lines that I need out by the end of this week so I guess after that my mind can then think in beads.
