I completed these fabric art quilts today they are for a gallery show at artfest we were invited to submit/sell up to 3 peices the catch was they had to be 8x8.

Land and Sea

Yesterday was such a fun over the top day for me... I received a PDF file of my article for cloth paper scissors for me to review to make sure if was correct for publication... I was thinking it was going to be just a word file but to the sounds of my screams it was in fact the pages with the photos of my fabric jewelry!!! the article is called "sew charming" and it will be in the may/June issue!

I am so happy with what how the article looks they did such a fantastic job of laying out my work with my words and how to's ! I can not wait till you all can see it!

I call this necklace "land and sea" the felt leaf represents the land and the pearls the sea.
this was created for the cloth paper scissors article but it did not make it into the photo shoot because they decided to only high light a group of bracelets that I created.


I made these little gift parcels today and inside have a gift they will be on the way to two lucky girls tomorrow :)

Last night I cleaned up my studio then I pulled out my fabric bins and starting looking for inspiration for my egg quilty for a little one on one art trade.

I had a lot of ideas for this egg ... I was toying with the idea of making a egg that opened up to revel a small chick.


but in the end I went with a more fabric meets Faberge :)

Life Everlasting
The back has a little pocket with a small pocket that hold the song lyrics to Life Everlasting for a old hymnal book. it is tied with tulle and has a feather tucked in :)

Resin Charms for artfest trades.

My artfest charm assembly line is officially closed!

51 resin charms in all!
(+40 bird nest charms for a total of 91)

16 Faithful heats, lace red string and buttons.

11 assorted rounds with various images.


12 message in a bottle (my favorites!) with little paper scrolls and red string.


12 assorted romance star's with glitter and lace.

Its time for me to clean up the studio now and redirect!

how I make my atc's

Here is a little peek on how I put my atc's together.
if you click on the photo's you can view the images larger :) Paper does make it into my atc's but for the most part I use transparencies, fibers and fabric that most of the time I will stamp on with stazon ink.




Here are the completed atc's. This is for a small atc swap... the them is pink and its a 3 for 3 trade that goes to one girl... I call the set little girls grow.



each one is a little different I tend to edit as I go along. I would have to say that by far stazon ink is my #1 most used art supply in my studio and my sewing machine my most favorite tool!

35 artfest atc's and birdnest winners!

This is my little scrap pile that I pulled from to make the cards below.

I did not meet my goal of 5o atc cards yesterday I only made it to 35...
but the are all one of a kind :)
I am just happy that I do have some trades for artfest and I now don't have to worry any more about getting there and having trade envy.

I used felt, fiber and transparency's, coffee stained muslin with stamped images/ words, button and tuelling and machine stitching .... I tend to lay out the designs fast then I will move stuff around a little then I will sit at the machine and sew them up .


today I will work on batch 2... and maybe I will go into a new direction... I depleted most of my scrap pile that I was working with so maybe I can come up with some fresh ideas?



I will work up a little steep by steep of how I do my layers today when I make my new batch and share it with you tomorrow :)

I really miss blogging and just playing around in my studio with fiber and paper, But all my Art time has been dedicated to Jewelry for My book and I have found that when I create Jewelry it comes from a different place inside of me and its hard for me to do both... it strangely one or the other for me... but I have been working on getting to the two to meet up some how and maybe even become friends :)

OK... maybe my contest was rigged... leave it to me to make pulling two names so complicated!
But on first pull I pulled out Kelly and Holly... Kelly does not count she can have what ever I do when I ever I do it... so yes Kelly you can have a charm... but you do not count, so I pulled another name...my next name was Martha who will be in the same house with me at artfest and Holly is going to be at artfest as well so they don't count... I will put away one just for Holly and Martha with your names on and I will hand deliver your birds to you :)

I guess it official I am a rule maker not a rule follower :)
and its always easier to make the rules up as you go along !

artfest charms

I have been procrastinating on my artfest charms... I made a batch of resin charms last month.. but they did not turned out as I had planed, ( a few of them still may make it into my trade bag) I encased book text seedpods and red sting in the resin.
So for the last few weeks I was clueless as to what I could do for my charms...
so yesterday I did my little thrift store day and lo and behold there were these little plastic wedding favor doves in a little bag about 100 of them ( so I scooped them up and went home happily and drilled a hole through there little plastic bird body's then created the wire nest... I am now happy I now have some trades!
So here you have it my 50 birds in there nest's! all ready for artfest!
Today I will make ATC cards, I will shoot for 50 but I will be over the top happy if I can do 100! wish me luck now its off to work I go!

a little peek into my closet and bed room :)

Yes its pink and brown and has leopard carpet! and has a little golden chair with pink ribbon flowers (yes, I made it) it is organized by type of clothing and then by color :) and yes I do love my shoes :) you can see close ups here.ok now I need to go and get dressed :)

Spring mist

I made these earrings last night for ME!
this is only funny if you know me... I make jewelry but I really don't wear any :)
I like things simple and paired down... and when I do wear jewelry its just one piece.


I need to get to work on my trades for artfest... I have to find the direction and right now I do not have any! I just need to get into my studio and clean off my desk of all my jewelry tools and play with some fiber and paper... oh my poor sewing machine has been neglected by me!
