the laws of attraction.

I try to live a life full of peace and creativity as I hold fast to the laws of attraction, and the one true thing that I always try to do was best said by Rumi:

Let the beauty we love be what we do.
Today, like every other day, we wake up empty
and frightened. Don't open the door to the study
and begin reading. Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

Rumi: translated by John Moyne and Coleman Barks

(my work table after I completed the piece below)

And these are truly more words to live by:

"Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Choose your
words, for they become actions. Understand your actions, for they become habits. Study your habits, for they will become your character. Develop your character, for it becomes your destiny." --Anonymous
I made this gift for a dear friend so they could be reminded of their own personal mission statement and have it close at hand.

And Here is a Emerson quote that has been wrapped around my wrist for over 15 years and it reads:

Give All To Love Obey Thy Heart.

Do you have words that you live by? or a mission statement that you hold dear? if so please share them with me, as I would love to read them.

I love all the quotes you print, they are always inspirational and I always feel they were meant just for me LOL. My nan always said to all of my family, Life is for Living and its true, at the drop of a hat she would go anywhere and do anything. I also like to think that 'If you can dream it you can be it' someday...... I need to streamline my dreams I think.

My Mum always used to say "To your own self be true" - I didn't really take that on board till recent years. The one I always try to remember is "Happiness is a means of travel not a destination" That has helped me change my outlook on life.

Lovely post, Ruth. There are several sayings I live by: to be true to myself, and: "Never stop seeking what seems unattainable." It was a line spoken in Enterprise, the Star Trek TV series and it hit me where I live!.

I have worn a ring on my "ring" finger for more than 10 years. "To thine own self be true" (Shakespeare: Hamlet)It helps to remind myself to be true to myself and to live a life that I am proud of.
Before that, my ring said "Pietas" -- piety, or devotion. My total devotion of those years was to my daughter. I wear the words on my rings (that I never take off)so I am reminded every day to live up to my expectations. I also had a ring which says "Carpe Diem" (sieze the day) but I have lost it. I use that in my art all the time.......

Your quotes hit the spot today. Love the post totally. I live by knowing that "nothing ever happens before it is time."

I like your art and quotations( I read Quilting arts) I have an important quotations for me; it's from Rimbaud:
"The true life is elsewhere" (La vraie vie est ailleurs) When I am somewhere and not very well, I think to these words, dreaming of better elsewhere, and time is passing quicker....It's an help!

Probably because of serious health issues, I have always lived my life remembering the quote in William Shakespeare's Richard 2nd

"I wasted time, and now doth time waste me;........."

Sounds gloomy; but it isn't, it's a reminder to make the most of every moment of our lives!

I have enjoyed looking at your inspiring artwork, Well done! Andrina
