- Ruth Rae some how found her true creative calling when she discovered a sewing machine. Best known for her mixed media fabric work, Ruth’s pieces are recognized for there time worn appearance that she archives by altering new fabrics to lead people to believe that her creations were created century’s ago. Whilst leading them to dream of the future just as much as the past. Ruth Rae teaches her jewelry and fabric techniques extensively in the USA. Her art and articles have appeared in numerous publications. Ruth’s first book, “A Charming Exchange”, brought new ideas for collaborative jewelry. Her second book, “Layered, Tattered and Stitched: A Fabric Art Workshop” will provide you with the inspiration and techniques in order to create fabric-art with incredible depth and personal significance. Ruth has filmed two instructional DVDs Quilting Arts. And she has also appeared on Quilting Arts TV. and yours as well - merry christmas! and i was so very pleased to find a copy of your 'layered,...' book under the tree for me! my christmas wishes (besides the obvious) were to 1 - get inspiring books 2 - get the time to read them and 3 - be allowed the time to create... it is a goal of mine for the new year, to find a way to get my family to understand how very integral this all is to my being...
